Stephan A. Jansen (*12.06.1971) ist Professor für Management, Innovation und Finanzierung und Leiter des „Center for Philanthropy & Civil Society | PhiCS“ an der Karlshochschule in Karlsruhe. Wissenschaftliche Beratungs- und Beiratsmandate in Unternehmen, Stiftungen, Bildungseinrichtungen und Ministerien. Er war Visiting Scholar an der Harvard Business School 2000 und 2001 sowie Visiting Scholar an der Stanford University 1999, 2010, 2015. 

Zuvor Direktor des „Civil Society Center (CiSoC)" an der Zeppelin Universität in Friedrichshafen/Bodensee, die er von 2003 bis 2014 als Gründungspräsident leitete. 

Mandate und Mitgliedschaften von Beraterkreisen, z.B. beim „Innovationsdialog“ der Bundeskanzlerin (2010-2014), der „Forschungsunion“ der Bundesregierung (2010 – 2013), der Spitzencluster-Initiative der Bundesregierung (2007-2015) sowie im persönlichen Beraterkreis von Peer Steinbrück Bundesfinanzminister a.D. (bis 2013). 

Jansen ist Autor von über 200 Veröffentlichungen, davon 25 Bücher und Herausgeberbände, regelmäßiger Kolumnist in deutschen Tages-, Wochen- und Monatszeitungen (z.B. Brand eins) und Mitherausgeber der „Zeitschrift für Management (ZfM)“.

Nach dem Studium der Wirtschaftswissenschaft in Witten/Herdecke, New York Universität und der Tokyo Kezai University schlossen sich 1997 bis 2003 weitere wissenschaftliche Stationen an der Stan­ford University sowie der Harvard Business School mit der Promotion an.

Seine Forschungsinteressen liegen in der Management-, Führungs-, Netzwerk- und Organisationstheorie. Weitere Felder sind vergleichende Philanthropie- und Zivilgesellschaftsforschung, interdisziplinäre Innovationstheorie, Unternehmenszusammenschlüsse sowie Bildungssystemanalysen.

Stephan A Jansen (* June 12th 1971) is Professor for Management, Innovation & Finance and Head of the "Center for Philanthropy & Civil Society | PhiCS" at Karlshochschule, an international university in Karlsruhe, Germany. 

Advisory Board and scientific consulting for corporates, foundations, education institutions as well as ministries.  He was Visiting Scholar at Harvard Business School 2000 and 2001 and  Visiting Scholar at Stanford University 1999, 2010, 2015. 

In May 2003 Jansen was appointed the founding president and managing director of Zeppelin Universität, a state-recognized privately held, endowed university in Friedrichs­hafen at Lake Constance. In the same year he was appointed professor at the "Chair for Strategic Organization and Financing | SOFI" by the federal ministry of science. At the time of this appointment, he was 31 years old and thus Germany`s youngest university president.

He is author of more than 200 publications (including 25 books and edited anthologies), especially in the areas of organization, network, leadership and management theory, mergers & acquisitions, philanthropy as well as analyses of educational systems.

He is regular columnist in German daily and weekly journals (e.g. bimonthly in "Brand eins") and co-editor of the "Zeitschrift für Management (ZfM)".

His research interests: analysis of networks from the perspective of communication and organization theory, social enterprises, civil society, mergers, as well as educational systems.
